I'm trying to be realistic, as a 64 year old guy it's hard to come to grips with the thin top surfaces and small sized steel tubes on a lot of furniture these days. I put this together by myself in a few hours. Everything fit BUT the small holes for screws in the "manufactured wood" panels weren't hole, just divots. So the screws tended to start then go off axis. Doesn't matter except on the drawer slides, where a tilted screw head makes the drawer catch a bit. I should have gone out and grabbed a cordless drill and 1/16th inch bit, but it's a fair walk to my shop and I'm waiting on back surgery, so I cut that corner and now wish I hadn't. I just wanted something good enough to not be ugly and to hold my 49 key midi keyboard, a few monitors, the audio interface, and near field monitors. It does all of those things and looks pretty good in our shared office space. PC, Sony Subwoofer, and UPS are all under the desk and there is good leg room after a few test arrangements. If you're into the whole multicolor LED thing they do include as strip with a small color selector but it isn't some RGB controller that will function under software control so hard core gamers may not be impressed. I didn't bother installing the LEDs, just not important to me. I did plug them into a USB port and they work fine. So... Everything fits well, the top surfaces should be loosely fitted at first so the seams and edges can be lined up nicely before snugging down. It would be easier with two people, but my wife was at work and I just wanted to get the thing put together. Have a good set of metric hex keys, maybe a small adjustable wrench, and a good #2 phillips screwdriver. The provided hex key rounded off less than halfway through the job. Many hardware stores sell individual metric hex keys if you don't want to buy an entire set, you need a 4mm hex key. Hex keys are also known as Allen Keys.
