My 8yr old VGA computer monitor was failing. I used a FOINNEX VGA to HDMI Adapter Converter to be able to use this newer digital HDMI monitor. It plugged into the VGA port and the supplied cables & connectors were all I needed for easy "plug & play" The new Acer SH242Y G0bih 23.8" also works perfect. I am not a gamer, and use this for office work & YouTube Videos. Somehow the Windows-10 automatically loaded all the necessary drivers software on startup, which was a surprise to me. The image quality is sharp & crisp, color, contrast, was acceptable on start up. There are 5 image adjustment buttons on the bottom Rt of the monitor, and I adjusted the brightness down to 28 using the brightness control button. I also selected the ECO-Mode setting for viewing, leaving all the other settings ,as is for now. The 5th button, next to the power button, is for the complete OSD system adjustment, and can be pushed, and toggled LT/RT/UP/DWN for menu selection, but I' want to use this for a while, before I make any changes. I've only had this monitor for a couple of days, but the image quality is excellent compared to the old VGA it replaced. For $99 this is a great value, making it possible to continue using my 8yr old PC. Glad I bought these together to complete the install.
