I used the c clamp attachment on an old school filing cabinet style desk with a 1" thick top. I purchased the 32" version of the mount for 3 Asus 24" LED monitors (all identical) after reading reviews advising the 24" version would not leave much angling room.The kit did include instructions and options for mounting through a grommet hole, for those wondering.THE GOODThe stand is very sturdy, it has zero problems supporting my three monitors. There is lots of room for adjustment. Unlike others, I had zero problems getting my 3 monitors level - I literally used a level, they're perfect, and there's still room to raise or lower the center monitor if I had needed.THE LESS GOOD BUT STILL FINEThe stand took a while to assemble. I put it together solo and it was not hard to do by myself, just time consuming. I spent a couple hours on it making sure everything was snug, secure, and wired properly.Speaking of assembly, tighten the bolts for tilting your screens before you even think of doing a test hang. All 3 of mine were so low in tension out of the box that they wouldn't have supported a cardboard cutout of a monitor. After tightening they're great, but I'm sure glad I checked first.The included wire clips are fine, but I added extra velcro zip ties for more streamlined management.I barely fit my cables through the center column - if you're using braided cables it's going to be snug. That being said I do have two extra cables in mine from a wall mounted screen above and managed to pull everything through, but the top cap isn't going back in.Amazon shipped this in a comically large box so don't plan to walk home eight blocks from a post office with it, that was less than pleasant.Cables: I bought all new ones to actually use the management system. 10ft/3m cords gave me enough space to work with, 6ft/2m did not (6 footers may have been okay for the center screen but I just replaced everything).It sticks forward a fair amount, and the 32 inch arms for my monitor size means my desk is pulled out about 2 inches from the wall now to get the angle I wanted. The mount itself doesn't stick out much, maybe an inch with the cables.OVERALLIt's great, I love it.
